The 24th Summer School will be held at Juraj Páleš Institute, Bottova 15, Levoča, Slovakia

The Juraj Páleš Institute was opened in Levoča in 2008 as the extension of the Catholic University in Ružomberok founded in 1995. The University follows the tradition of the Carthusian Cloister in Levoča (founded in 1454), the Jesuit Convict in Levoča (founded in 1724) with their elite school providing higher education to noble families, and the Pedagogical Institute of Spišská Kapitula (founded in 1819). Juraj Páleš was appointed the first director of the Pedagogical Institute in Spišská Kapitula in 1818.

Accommodation and Board

In Levoča, there is a large number of hotels or pensions of several categories, including following hotels in the town center: www.arkada.sk, www.barbakan.sk, www.hotelstela.sk.

Please note that August is the peak tourist season in this popular tourist destination. Therefore, we suggest reserving your hotel room as soon as possible.

The organizers can book a cheap accommodation at the student hostel of the Juraj Páleš Institute in the area of the Summer School venue upon request indicated in the Registration form. Accommodation (without breakfast) is available in 2 or 3 room apartments with a shower and a toilet. Approximate price per person and night is 10 EUR.

Travel

From airports in Krakow (Poland), Vienna (Austria), Prague (Czech Republic), Bratislava (Slovakia), and local airport in Košice (Slovakia), you can reach Poprad or Spišská Nová Ves by train. There is a bus connection from either Poprad or Spišská Nová Ves to Levoča (25 km; 15 km, respectively). Bus station and train station in Poprad and Spišská Nová Ves are very close (3 minute walk).

The venue of the Summer School is 10 minute walk from the Levoča bus station.
