There will be a limited number of rooms in student dormitories in the Colina campus nearby (10- 20 minutes of walking from the conference place, on top of a hill with a beautiful city view). The price is 30 Euros (150 RON)/single room/night.

About Brasov

Brasov is situated in central Romania, in the historical region of Transylvania and is surrounded from three sides by the Carpathian Mountains. Thanks to its well preserved medieval city center and its natural surroundings, it is one of the top touristic attractions of Romania. Depending on your spare time, you may consider booking some more days, some ideas of places to visit you can find at Tripadvisor or Romania Tourism.

How to reach Brasov

By airplane

  • Brasov has a small airport, connected to several cities in Europe: London, Budapest, Naples, Milano, Nurnberg, Dortmund.
  • A better connected airport is Bucharest Henri Coanda airport (OTP). From Bucharest OTP airport, there are many door-to-door shuttle services; one trip takes around 2h30’, the price varies between 20 and 30 Euros/person, here are just three of them:
  • Another option is Sibiu Airport (SBZ). Shuttle transport is also available, a trip takes around 2 hours.
  • Travel tip: If you plan to stay for some extra days in Brasov, it is advisable to avoid the car/shuttle trip Bucharest -> Brasov on Friday afternoon or evening, as well as the trip Brasov -> Bucharest on Sunday, as the road traffic can be extremely intense on those days.
